Your relationship with your printer/designer should not be a life sentence.
Many graphic designers/printers think that charging you an arm and a leg for design will ensure that you will not go elsewhere for future print work, some charge a base rate of €70 per hour or part thereof. We prefer the idea of building a lifelong relationship with customers with nominal design fees if any.
